ALT Key Not Working In Pro Tools
Hey, i have this issue where the ALT Key will not work in Pro Tools IF i open explorer from within pro tools - for example opening explorer when importing a track or creating a session, or if a sampler wants me to find samples etc. The moment i do this the ALT Key will not work until i exit and restart pro tools.
I have been using Pro Tools for many years now with no issues like this. I recently upgraded from Pro Tools 12 to 2019.10 Ultimate and the issue started occuring around this time as well. I have tried contanting avid support about it and they don't seem to have a solution so i'm hoping someone else might have encountered this issue and been able to resolve it. Things i have tried so far Reinstalling Pro Tools Trashing Pro Tools Preferences Trying older versions of Pro Tools Uninstalling Keyboard and Mouse software. Trying a completely different keyboard and mouse Uninnstalling and reinstalling a bunch of different drivers to see if there was an issue there Contanting Avid Support Setup Self Built PC Windows 10 Pro 1909 i7 8700K CPU GTX 1080 Ti GPU 32GB DDR4 RAM Asus Prime Z-370-A Motherboard Thunderbolt Header PCIE Card Usb 3.0 Expansion PCIE Card ASUS PCE-AC88 Wifi PCIE Card 1TB 860 EVO SSD (Where Pro Tools and OS is installed) 4TB 860 EVO SSD 2 External 4TB HDDS 1 Internal 1 TB HDD Razer Lancehead TE Mouse Corsair K95 platinum Keyboard ILOK 3 My audio interface is a Universal Audio Arrow And my version of Pro Tools is Pro Tools Ultimate 2019.12 Thank you for your time, any help is greatly appreciated. |

Re: ALT Key Not Working In Pro Tools
There are (were? Haven’t tested on 2019.12) issues with Windows 10 UK English language setting and the ALT key. Mine is fixed by setting windows to US English (which changes some other things too). Give it a go. It’ll require a restart.

Update
Incase anyone else ever has this issue i was able to fix it by reinstalling Windows. Annoying but at least it got the job done. |
