Subtle breezes to fluttering choppy wind gusts, this wind ambience sound fx pack will give you highly dynamic wind sounds.
We spent 2 weeks in the mysterious and lonely nature of Norway. We found perfect conditions to record outstanding wind ambience sound effects.
The white blanket of snow and the freezing cold covers everything and makes the world and nature turn to silence: No rushing brooks, no rain, no birds chirping, no civil noise - just the fluttering, blustery, swirling, brisk sound of magical blowing Wind.

From a smooth breeze to choppy wind gusts, this library offers a wide dynamic range. You can experience amazing wind gusts evolving from silence to full storm level back to silence again.

We used our wide spaced omni rig and pimped it even further to be 100% wind proofed. This time we selected Schoeps CCM2 microphones for recording this library. They provide a detailed clarity in the midrange that is very pleasing for wind sound effects in general.

Gusty Winds is the perfect companion to our Rushing Wind sound pack. With it´s gusty and dynamic wind effects, it is different in style, and serves sounds that are nicely complementing our Rushing wind library.

One further note: For more convenience we edited different intensity variations from some of the wind recordings.

We are happy (& our subwoofer looks a little less worried) now this new HISSandaROAR library is released!
SD036 TIMPANI X FRICTION iinvolved gently torturing a pair of vintage Ludwig Timpani,
primarily using friction mallets created by Czech percussion mallet genius František Škrla
which create incredible deep resonance (& is slightly terrifying at half speed!)
We also captured a range of hits and impacts, some detuned, others with pitch bends
and some resemble an acoustic 808 kick drum boom! We also experimented by wetting
the timpani membrane to create squeaks and scrapey elements, and also achieved
some surprisingly good results by bowing mallets!

We went to Stillwater, MN to record a houseboat on the waters of the St. Croix river, and came out with a great collection of recordings of maneuvering, accelerating, decelerating, and floating at rest. With shotgun mics affixed to the bow and sides, a quad array inside the cabin or up on the roof, and handheld recorders placed in strategic locations, there’s no shortage of perspectives to choose from. The houseboat is bigger and heavier than a speedboat, so this could be useful for any larger, slower watercraft. As we usually do, we also included a handful of odds and ends like the horn blasting, doors and cabinets opening and closing, and we also grabbed some quick recordings of a pontoon boat that we happened to have access to. All in all, a pretty productive day.

We’re releasing this library in a choice of Poly Wav or Multiwav formats, so that people can choose whether they want one big (up to 10 channel!) WAV file, or separate individual mono, stereo, and quad files.

All files are embedded with comprehensive metadata for optimal use in Soundminer, Basehead, Pro Tools Workspace, and more!

Recorded over three years and captured with a pair of Sennheiser MKH8040 ORTF microphones,
this new 10.2GB library includes such historical gems as the Constables Cottage at St Bathans,
which was built in 1884. Then follows a great range of doors and props from characterful 19th
and 20th century houses, a range of exterior gates and also very heavy doors from a World War 2 bunker,
above the cliffs at Godley Head. Along with doors, windows, cabinets, wardrobes, and drawers this library
also includes light switches, toilets, fridge & dishwasher doors, door creaks and floor creaks, door knocks,
hits & thumps as well as some lovely metal sounds courtesy of a vintage coal range as well as that WW2 bunker.
