Default Best procedure to upgrade to yosemite?

Hi guys. Running maverics. Pthd on 2014 hdx1. 12 core 64 gb ram. Lots of plugs
So firstly i cant find info on support for
Altiverb
Speakerphone
Air hybrit strike structure transfuser
Spectrasonics
Mcdsp
Ni ultimate
Incram tools
And a couple more. Any guys running these in yosemite?

Then whats the best procedure, I have cloned my main hd. So now do i format it, install yosemite and then let the installer copy all my settings and apps for me?
It will take me days to install all the pluggins from scratch again. What do you guys do?

Thanks for the advice in advance

Copy stuff to another drive, then erase the system drive, then install Yosemite on an empty drive, then MANUALLY COPY YOUR STUFF OVER (do not use Migration Assasin).

If you bought these when Avid owned them, you have to buy updates from AIR in order to use them with v11 and later.

Spectrasonics works with v11. McDSP users of v5 can get versions that work with v11. NI v9 will work with v11.

Install Yosemite on an empty drive. Use Migration Assistant to copy over the data for your user accounts. Do NOT use Migration Assistant to copy over Applications. That is why someone else referred to it as Migration Assassin. You are best served by reinstalling all of your apps, plug-ins, etc. Yes, it will take time. It will be time well spent.

I just ran disk utility over all my systems to make sure permissions were sorted etc... and updated as per the App store.. No problems what so ever and nice and quick. (CCC cloned all my system disks prior to updating).
