Default Will Omnisphere Run On A 3.2GHZ Quad Core/16GB?

I'm considering buying Ominisphere and Trilian and running it on a new Mobile Workstation w/a 4702HQ 2.2GHZ Quad Core (3.2 GHZ Turbo) w/16GB of RAM.

Will this run Omnisphere and Trilian well w/out hogging the CPU in PT 10 or 11? I demoed it on a friend's PC w/16GB and a 2.2 Dual Core and anything more than 2 sounds made PT10 crash over and over.

Default Re: Will Omnisphere Run On A 3.2GHZ Quad Core/16GB?

I would say a big YES to that question. Used to run it on a dual core with only 4g of ram, had no problems. Most of the time I used one omnsiphere with 2-3 multi stacks and one transfuser, every day and never crashed. Also used it with several instances of other nexus, etc.

Used with trillian would be another matter but not for a quad core and 16G ram one would think. Dont know why it crashed on your friend's, maybe he used 2 instances.

Its worth mentioning that the newer Omnisphere lets you use some Trillion patches inside it which would cut down on the use of system resources... sometimes its easier when screen real estate gets sparse. I find it easier as a starting point when I'm composing anyway as there's less navigating involved which keeps my focus on the composition where I want it.
