Cubase SX3 with a DIGI 001 ?
So I finally took the plunge and upgraded from Cubase SX1 to SX3. I spent a half hour with Cubase tech support to go over my system and they assured me that my upgrade would be smooth and that if Cubase SX1 was running on my system Cubase SX3 would work just fine with my DIGI 001 as well.
Wrong!! Cubase 3 wouldn’t initialize the DIGI 001 when I started it for the first time. I called tech support and they told me that I had to install a different audio card first to set up Cubase SX3, and then I could configure the DIGI 001 as the main audio device. (this was a major pain) so I did it. I fired up Cubase SX3 for the first time again. I went through the device set up to assign the DIGI 001 as the main audio, and master asio device. I rebooted the system and tried to set up Cubase and when I open the device manager and click on anything in it the screen blacks out and Win XP reboots the machine. PTle still runs fine and all of my projects play, but I can’t even configure Cubase right now. I am going to try again when I wake up. Any suggestions would be appreciated. I am running an ASUS board with an Athlon XP 1800 chip with a gig of ram. It is an Allen Halada machine. The box has run flawlessly for a year running both PTle and Cubase SX1. Thanks in advance. |

Re: Cubase SX3 with a DIGI 001 ?
Here's what i would do:
Uninstall the Digidesign related items, and re-install them. Make sure you also install the ASIO-driver as that's the one used by Cubase i bet.

Re: Cubase SX3 with a DIGI 001 ?
I was under the impression that the DIGI 001 will only work with the Digi ASIO driver. Are you telling me that the digi will run with the Stienberg ASIO driver?

Re: Cubase SX3 with a DIGI 001 ?
eh....you need to install the Digidesign ASIO-driver. Then your Digi001 will be available as a recording interface for Cubase.

Re: Cubase SX3 with a DIGI 001 ?
I have been using the the DIGI 5.3 ASIO driver with Cubase SX1 for over a year and it as been running flawlesly on the same machine I am using now. PTle still runs fine but Cubase SX 3 will not run.
