I’m still on 10HD. Like others I can’t see or justify upgrading. 10 is rock solid on my machine and gives me everything I need

PTHD 10.3.10 TDM here + PE6R4 -I + Snow Leopard & Moutain Lion
Mostly because i do not see any reasons to change. In case i'd like better converters than 192 i/o i buy news ones but 192 i/o are just fine. No Waves plugings for news avid DSP cards, many are saying TLSpace does not sound as good as the TDM one on HDX Snow Leopard is so fast to start and to shut down on SSD - Apple has never succeded in making such a stable & fast OS Why would i change at all ? Off line & accelerated bounce ? yeah that feature is the only one missing in PT10 and shouldn't cost that much to avid to implement it but, that will never be. |

PT 10 HD Accel + PE6r4, Mac OS 10.9.5, 64GB RAM. My 192i/o has upgraded converters, audio path components and, an Antelope clock. Vienna Ensemble Pro 6 helps with 64 bit VIs.
My rig sounds good to me and suits my workflow as a composer. Heavy workloads with weekly deadlines often mean I’m mixing while I’m writing. My rig lets me keep up with the schedule. None of my colleagues like their HDX rigs. |
