Default Do I need to buy a new ilok if I have lost one?

Hi,

I lost my Ilok for protools 12 so I bought an ASC and contacted customer support. They made me a support ticket (Case 04124726), reaquired my license and added the license to my ilok account, telling me to sync the license with an ilok. I am no longer able to contact support as my ASC code has expired but I was under the impression that avid would replace the ilok key it self, if this is not the case I will go buy one but it would be nice to have some confirmation on that. Not impressed but avids customer support at all.. surely any company offering software at such expense should allow their customers full support at no additional expense.

Any help from anyone on this would be much appreciated

They do not give you a new iLok. You will have to purchase a new one.

Remember, PACE is a seperate company. AVID do not own them.

Yes. You need to contact ilok.com and report lost or stolen license key. Then it is up to each company that has deposited you licenses whether they redeposit or not.

This is why in general everyone should have ilok.com Theft and Loss Coverage, it is the cheapest insurance and works very well. Sorry to say but you may end up losing some of your assets here, but best of luck anyway! It all starts from ilok.com

Thanks for the advise guys, I do understand that they are seperate companies but I still find avids customer support weak considering the software is so expensive. A years support is simply not enough and these ASC codes are a crazy idea

And this is why they (AVID) are bleeding customers. Pay for the iLok annual coverage, it is cheap AND essential.

So long as you have active support plan, you get free codes so what is the problem may I ask?
