Default Re: ProTools 8.0.3 Big Bug...

Digi's software updates are an absolute joke at this point. They fix 2 dozen minor and major bugs, finally deliver a suitable release of PT8 a full 15 months after it's initial "release", and they drop this monster bug in our lap. My facility's cost of dealing with it reaches in the thousands of dollars already.

Do I go back to 8.01csxx to suffer through shift S crashes and numerous others? Do I wait for a cs release?

DIGI. Get it together.

By the way, is anyone having this bug on Snow Leopard? Or is everyone using 10.5.8?

actually, I had about an inch of snow at my home in Oakland last month... and I use a wheelchair. But I only have to roll about 8 feet to turn off my Canopus...

Digi, Apple, someone, please bump this bug to the top of the list.

Yeah well. The only thing that changes on my machines is I "upgraded" pro tools to 8.0.3. It feels unnatural to blame Apple.

Thank god my rockin orange guitar god 003 interface works! Whew! I thought I might lose some serious billable hours on that bug but Digi finally released cs1 and my world is complete.

at the moment it seems to me that quicktime playback and 8.0.3 is broken... people in that thread are reporting issues with Blackmagic cards, AVID Mojos, Canopus boxes and just desktop playback... only cure regardless of OS is rolling back to 8.0.1 so I dont think its apples fault

Unhappy Re: ProTools 8.0.3 Big Bug...

Oh wow, ALSO EXACTLY the same problem here.... But bug didn't start right away after 8.03 install.. worked fine for a few weeks , thus the trouble shoot was illusive...
I was starting to tear my hair out & about to reinstall the OS & PT.. yes since 8.03 i get very strange hangs on session loading.. crashes or quits on Window redraw .. happens on some sessions & not others... but trying to relaunch a quit session gets a PT LAunch Hang on Hardware DSI.
(Beginning of Green Bar) Always needs a reboot...
Bizzarre inconsistent session loading... once successfully loaded - system is stable & normal.. Working off a backup partition with PT 8.01

All my sessions have .DV video ripped by (DVD DX Pro) No SD2 files
-all .Wav files...

Canopus ADVC-100 / 2x2.8 Quad Core Xeon /10gig Ram / Leopard 10.5.8 / PT 8.03 HD3 / All plug-ins w/o Waves. G-Tech Drives / Nitro FW800 Hub / Logic 9
