Default Subscription Confusion :(

Hey guys...maybe someone can explain in plain english this to me...

About a year ago I have purchased Eleven Rack from local reseller. At the time of purchase I was debating between perpetual license and subscription model. Since I already use subscription for some other software and really like it, I have decided to go with subscription model after Avid rep told me that it will cost me $99USD to renew it every year.
Now, after a year of happily learning and using PT, my subscription is about to expire and I have a big "issue".
On the Avid website here: http://www.avid.com/pt-upgrades-and-...alUser=&store= it clearly states that if "I OWN Pro Tools 12 with an active Annual Upgrade Plan that's about to expire" it will cost me $99 to renew.
BUT
When I go to my account and try to renew it, it shows $299.

I opened a case with Avid support and got some reply but it is not clear at all.
Can someone try to explain this to me?

I'm not making money using PT, it's just my hobby and $299 a year is just a bit too much and $99 a year is not that bad to keep my software current.

Hey Chris - Sorry for the confusion here. The Annual Subscription is $299, renewing an Upgrade Plan is $99. (How To Buy lists the options available.) If you have a subscription then you don't own a perpetual license which is what the page you linked to is referencing. I see you have a support case in progress so will reply to that.

Does it mean that if I do not renew my subscription I will not be able to use PT at all?
