Re: PT 10.3.10 and Waves plugins
No, Shorty, you're not insulting my skill or intelligence. I'm a music guy. If I could find a reasonable way to record in the 21st century without using a computer, I'd gladly do it, but I've had to slowly become more computer proficient as I go. I appreciate all your input. I will definitely try importing one or both of these sessions into new sessions. Oddly, I had to pull up a session this afternoon that I thought I was done with a few months ago. When the session was open, I opened Waves Vocal Rider which was on the lead vocal track to make a volume adjustment and all was well. About the third time I opened it, however, it froze everything. I shut down my computer, restarted it, pulled up Pro Tools and that session and took Vocal Rider out of the session. I didn't have another problem. I know Waves are great plugins, but something in my system is obviously not happy to have them aboard. They seem OK when I first put them into a session (unless I've had a problem with them in that session previously), but if I have to go back to them for a little tweaking, they don't respond well.
In the original message I posted a Sandra Report, but to save you having to look it up, I'm using a PC with Windows 7 SP-1 64 bit. I have 16 GB of RAM & an Intel i7-3770 processor. Both the RAM and the processor are fairly recent upgrades. I'm using Pro Tools 10.3.10. I also have 11 installed, but I found I lost too many plugins that I rely on by switching to 11--some of them free or cheap plugins that will never be available in AAX64--so I went back to 10. And all was working well until this week. Thanks again for your help. |

Re: PT 10.3.10 and Waves plugins
I had an odd issue with my Waves plugs losing authorization randomly, reboot would fix it but the problem would reoccur.
Initially Waves CS said there must be something wrong with my system. Eventually they had a fix for me….move my auths from the computer to a USB stick. Completely solved the problem. They said there was an issue with 32 bit PT and 64 bit Win7, the way PT was communicating with the OS…. So complete shot in the dark for your problem…try moving your licenses to a USB stick……..best of luck.

Re: PT 10.3.10 and Waves plugins
I've had issues where certain waves plugins have not passed audio and I have to make them inactive then reactivate them for them to work again

Re: PT 10.3.10 and Waves plugins
Thanks to Raoul and Deafguy. I will try moving my licenses to a USB stick--I really should have done that already anyway. Also, if I have trouble in the future I'll try making the plugin inactive then re-activate it. There's a possibility I'll switch over to PT 11 anyway since I have it, but it will cost me about $300 to upgrade my absolutely necessary plugins to AAX 64. So that won't be happening real soon, but when/if it does, maybe that will solve this problem as well.
