Quantize not working properly

Hello,

I just added some electronics drums(midi) recorded to the grid. I went to quantize the midi track and selected Event-Quantize. When I select Quantize, the notes move but when I select Apply again the Event box stays open instead of closing out. I also tried quantizing a few other measures but this time it wasn't working at all.

Could I have possibly changed a setting? I'm coming from PT HD8 to HD10 but I would't think there would be any significant changes here.

Any suggestions would be appreciated! Thanks in advance!!

That's because the APPLY button is just doing what it's named. There are lots of times where you(me, anyone) might want that window to stay open for lots of midi editing. If you are all done with quantizing, close the window

Ok, then why does selecting the "Enter"(Mac) key on the keyboard close the Event window when the "Apply" button is hilighted?

Hmmm, you got me there. I'm a PC Does it act any different between the Enter key next to the " vs the ENTER key by the numbers on the right(assuming a full-size keyboard)?

I will have to check this later tonight, b/c I leave my Quantise window open and quantise smaller sections thruout my midi parts

I am pretty sure i haven't seen this behavior but like i said I will check it out.

Well that's a new one one me....

When I hit the return key, (The one over the right-hand shift key)

It quantized my selection and then closes the window

If I undo the quantize and bring the window back up if I use my number pad enter key it leaves the window open and quantizes

Never knew that because obviously I don't use the return key that much. I use my enter key (The one by the number pad) because I don't have to look at the keyboard and I can find that key by feel

I'm using version 10.3.10. I've discovered that the bigger issue I'm having is with the recording and playback of BFD2 which I'm triggering with a Roland TD-15KV kit. Probably why the quantized midi doesn't sound right during playback. I've contacted Fxpansion support about it. What immediately tipped me off was the recording of triplet hits on a Tom pad. Sounded fine while recording but during playback(before any quantization) either the triplets played back fine or sounded like one pad hit. This happened thruout the track. Other pad hits also seemed to be affected too.

To rule out the TD-15, I recorded it's midi output to it's own midi track and took it's stereo audio outs to a stereo Aux in track. I then recorded the track and it had no issues at all during playback. I then tried quantizing the track and that also worked perfectly.

So that's where I'm currently at with this. By the way, the system I'm running this on is a Mac Pro 3.4GHz Quad Core with 32GB of ram so BFD2 isn't being taxed at all although that's what it feels like.
