No "slide" edit with mouse?
I coulda sworn I did this the other day, but maybe I'm thinking of Reaper.
Drag a clip's content within its boundaries. It's called slip editing in NLEs. PT calls this "sliding" and can do it with nudging. But is there a way to do it with the mouse? Could be faster and more accurate. |

Re: No "slide" edit with mouse?
Of course - it's called Slip mode. Toggle edit modes with the ~ key. This is a very basic function of Pro Tools - I toggle modes all day long!

Re: No "slide" edit with mouse?
Not what I'm talking about. Hard to explain, so here's the equivalent in FCPX:
https://support.apple.com/guide/fina...er1632d8e4/mac In the PT reference guide (for 2019.6) it's under "Nudging the Contents of a Clip" pg 661. Except I'd like to do that with the mouse, if possible. |

Re: No "slide" edit with mouse?
I don't think you can do this with a mouse? I believe you have to set your nudge value, select your clip and use Control +/- to slide the contents within the boundaries.

Re: No "slide" edit with mouse?
Actually this function is a godsend for editing drums and adjust timing in general. I'm surprised most of the people is not aware of it.
In windows it's windows and -+ keys. Cubase is able to do it with the mouse.

I'd love that feature added.

Re: No "slide" edit with mouse?
It's WIN/Command +/- to use this feature. And PT allows nudge to the sample. You won't get more accurate with a mouse.

Re: No "slide" edit with mouse?
No need to zoom in. Use the nudge. Mouse isn't more accurate than a sample.
