Recommended Components for Custom Built PC!?

Hello all,

I have an opportunity to have a desktop CPU custom built. Any recommendations on the components (memory, hard-drive, processor, OS, graphic card, etc) to run Pro Tools LE 7.4 (soon to be 8) with the simple Mbox Mini? I do a lot of mixing/mastering in my current setup and it just seems to be bogged down as this CPU was not built to handle the full potential of Pro Tools. I have read many forums and discussions but none seem to be up to date with current technological options....so i'm asking for a little help on the DUC end. Any recommendations?

Yeah I was reading that, but I think they are more aimed at PT 9, and video cards. Definately can learn from it all however.

Um... my rig is in that list on the first post and I ran PT8 on it very well for quite some time.

Granted, I do run PT9 on it currently, and it is still a great rig for it, but... PT9 has only been out for a week. That thread was started almost 2 years ago. The very first machine in the list was built then. It's updated fairly regularly, but they are all great machines for both PT7 and 8, and with a few exceptions now 9.

Check out filosofem's build from that list; it's really the one with the most available parts.
