No audio during punch in - hear the previous take

Hi

Running PT HD3 7.3.1cs3 on a G5. I've been having an odd but irritating problem during punch ins - the audio file gets recorded and the waveform gets drawn but PT plays back the previous take on the track. For the time being I just clear out the previous take before a punch in. But it is annoying! And it happens at odd times - cant really pin point a reason. And this happens in all the three studios I work in (similar setup). Anybody else with this bug?

you can count me in also. It seems random to me. I just redo the take since it's noticed within the first few notes of the punch in. It never happened to me twice in the same session as far as I can remember though. any one else?

Try deleting your digidesign databases on your drives, the digidesign database inside your app support folder (Hard Drive/ Library/ Application Support/ Digidesign) and delete the WaveCache.wfm file from inside the session folder you're working in.

Yeah that could help.. but no real point since this happens out of the blue. And it has hyappened multiple times in a session. And the VO artists kept thinking that I forgot to punch in!!

This is sounds reminiscent of the "Loop Record," & Quickpunch disappearing takes BUG hat was fixed in CS4. You may want to consider trying that.

According to Digi's web site, that problem was fixed with 7.3.1cs3:

Fixed: Random Disappearance or Corruption of Regions On Tracks When Editing Or Punching In (Item #85976)
Although this could occur while editing or recording over regions, the problem was most evident when QuickPunching over existing regions."
