Hey Gorilla,

Beat Detective will help you create a tempo map. You will have substantially more luck doing a track in small chunks (2 - 8 bars).

Remember that you first have to capture the selection. Use tab to transient, it seems to get me the best results when finding the "loop".

You will then have to analyze and compare with your click track. you may have to add a few beats in quiet sections. Once you have done that capture it. It works well on drum tracks, okay to poor on "complete" tracks depending on the rhythmic content and power.

Hey thanks Uncle Bob! I seen Beat detective in action a few times at TDM studios, but I'm just curious how the Groove Quantize works? Is Beat Detective in our 6.1 PTLE? Hey Digi is there or will there be a 6.1 PTLE tour so we can see some of this new stuff in action???

There's actually a pretty enlightening little video in the DiSK section of this site about this very topic (I think). I know I was always baffled by the beat/groove stuff, but after seeing that video, it made a lot more sense. Still haven't done it myself yet, but I think I know what I'm doing now, and that's all that really counts, right?

No, it's not beat detective for LE... it's for MIDI only. It basically can conform your programmed tracks to a groove template. It's cool, but it's still not beat detective!
