Default Make playlist into own track command?

Say I do ten vocal takes on one track by creating a new playlist each time. Standard procedure... no prob. Then, say after take ten I decide I want to break out all of the previous nine takes into their own tracks for whatever insane layering reason.

Is there a way to do that in one motion, i.e. without having to create 9 new tracks and then drag each region from each playlist into the new track, then manually delete the old playlists (for housekeeping) because they are empty and have their own track now?

I wish you could just right-click on a playlist and select 'remove this playlist and it's audio from this track and make it into its own separate track, and delete the resulting empty playlist from this track' or something to that effect.

Have I developed a bad work habit that I should break or would that be convenient?

I say a quick way you can do it is bring up the playlist and dup each one. Then you can clear your playlist when you are done. That way you can keep what you want from each vocal. If you have plugins or sends.

If you are running Pro Tools 8 look up 'Expanding Alternate Takes to New Tracks' in the Pro Tools 8 Reference Guide.
