Default Re: PRO TOOLS 8 compatible with WINDOWS 7 someday?

This is hit and miss for those not interested in hardware upgrades. Hopefully the upcoming non-beta release will offer more compatibility.

Default Re: PRO TOOLS 8 compatible with WINDOWS 7 someday?

I have a 8 core amd, with windows 7 64 bit, 32g of ram and a Mbox 2 mini

this is what i did to greatly reduce the rate of all the errors... i still get them but this process helped ALOT, i am able to record now!

step 1...

update protools and your interface drivers.

step 2...

go to youtube and search "windows 7 protools" look for the few that say "optimization" in the name, then watch the videos. there is like 3 key videos

step 3...

Play with your H/W setting inside of protool under the set up menu. start with minimal setting. This process will take a few trys to find the ideal setting for your set up

my settings are:

H/W buffer size: 256 samples
Host processors: 4 processors
Cpu usage limit: 90%

Hope this helps you! good luck everyone!
