Default What are you using for guitar modeling in PT11?

Line6 has been my main go-to for years, but they haven't mentioned anything about an AAX updated. What are you using?

Eleven Rack and for software Positive Grid BIAS Desktop, it's pretty amazing.
Check my review/demo video if interest, it's my go to software amp sim.

The only thing some people may not like is it does not include effects, but the amp/cab modeling and options are just great.

These are my two goto's as well. For Bass, the Ampeg SVX bundle for Amplitube is quite possibly the only fantastic bass modeling I've ever heard, and since it includes several heads and cabs you can get just about any tone you need out of it. Lately I've been using the Orange models as well and the Soldano head for heavy distorted metal and rock stuff.

Try out Amplitube, the player is free and you can try out any models you want for three full days before deciding to buy.

Rarely have a felt a larger jump in technology than with guitar sims. My plugin folder had all the major players and I just didn't use them because they always fell short, especially when pushed. Someone posted a demo of S-Gear on another forum and I doubted the legitimacy of their claim that it was software. The subtleties which, before then, were only found in tube amps, were present. *Real* dynamics with life in each note, not a series of very similar-sounding plucks. It was the very first time where my ears didn't call BS. I've been a huge fan since, still trying other sims as they become available, but none have touched it.

One note: use a good signal chain going in. As with a good amp, the better you feed it the more it will provide. Most sims aren't as pristine and so there's less variance between an average signal and one that's well cared for. I'm not suggesting that it's required - you'll love what you hear out of the box, but when I began tending to my direct signal (with a Lehle Sunday Driver in one rig and an NPNG Diehlio-into-good-preamp in another) things got very interesting.

Shane,

How does Bias hold up? I'm thinking about getting it, because I think it sounds excellent, but I typically use 4-6 amps in a session...and I'm worried that it will bog my system down. I guess it depends on your system specs as well, but have you found it operates efficiently?

Thanks,

Ben
