Default Album Field Characters Cut Off mp3 Encoder

Anyone else notice that the Album field seems to have a character limitation? I tried an offline bounce (awesome!) in Pro Tools 11 but the Album name got chopped off.

There seems to now be a 30 character limitation. Was that intentional? Can Avid please fix this? How do we report bugs?

thanks!
Francisco

Check this : http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ID3 & specifically this : http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ID3#Layout

It's rather a limitation coming from ID3v1 tags than from PT

Yeah... doesn't happen in Pro Tools 10.

I just recently got PT11 and I noticed that same thing for the Comments section too. And I think the limit is even less, like 25 characters or so. I haven't noticed anything with the Album section (but then again I've never needed more than the 30 characters you speak of for an album title).

This is pretty annoying. Like you, for me also it didn't used to do this in 10. I like to put my contact info in there (email & phone) and the BPM, since bafflingly there is no separate BPM field either. (What's the deal with that? That seems like a very basic piece of info to have.) And while I'm ranting, how come we can't make up our own genres in the Genre field. Instead we have to make do with whatever choices we have in the drop-down menu. (Sometimes they don't cut it.)

Now I have to finish adding all that stuff after importing into iTunes. An extra step that's kinda annoying.
