Default 001 with OSX/Dual 1gig vs Mix Systems

What are your thoughts on the processing power of PTLE 6.0 software (which will be Altivec and DP aware) running on a new Mac DP 1gig or 1.25 gig machine VS. a Mix or Mix Plus system?

I have seen several post where guys with Mix (1 card) systems did not have hardly any DSP power with 32 tracks. This makes me think that an 001 might be more powerful in a new DP Mac and the new PTLE software.

Thanks.

Anyone want to speculate if PTLE 6.0 on a DP Mac G4 1 gig will have more DSP power than a Mix system?

Thanks

If you need power no better answer than PC. but let's get real

The Mix is far better option...
why?
1. You get DSP so you can use plugins not offered on the LE platform and the DSP isn't the weak.

2. While LE use only CPU the Mix use CPU+DSP so you can work (abit more limited) with RTAS also!.

PT6 won't increase performance so much.
the problem is the old PPC chips not being updated. till apple get this solved those duals won't do much good with 1.25ghz or even 1.5ghz as "the other side" just crossed the 3ghz barrier.
I just bought 2.4Ghz P4 and what can I say, mac is far better choice but in performance no mac even with PT6 can get this one.

32+16 davec results...

Hi Rock Artist.
I've got a g4 450mhz at the moment using the 001.
I want to upgrade because I'm tired of not having compression + eq on every channel (just like a 01v/03d etc..). Howvever a brand new Mac is over 2000 pounds. (2600 for a dual 1.25mhz).
Yet I can get a Pc for a about 600 pounds that (I hear) will wipe the floor with the best Mac in pro Tools. What has been your experience going to the other side? can u get the same plugins? does it crash? can I use Logic as well?
The difference in price between a Pc and a Mac is just TOO much at the moment, I cant seem to logically justify a new Mac purchase.
