PT can't auto save write only Hard Disk ( it isnt )

Having a spot of bother with auto save , an error on screen says Pro Tools can't auto save is the hard disk a read only drive , if so please disable auto save.
The hard disk is the usual disk i record to at present and is read / write. After 15 mins of doing nothing about it the error has gone away and i can save again as normal.

My hard disks are in a FW 800 daisy chain loop of 5 together and time machine is enabled on one of the disks.

Have you tried repairing permissions on the disk(s) in question?

Thanks , i've tried PERmIssons on all disks , nothing unusual there on the audio drive , the User hard disk had stacks of permissions on but i've found thats been the case on my mac's since 2004 , there only used to be a few permissions to repair.

Daisy chaining drives can cause problems sometimes. Try connecting only one drive or use a powered Firewire 800 hub.
