Going to mirror what was suggested earlier. DISABLE ANY FLOPPY CONTROLLERS, and best to do it in BIOS. Why some manufacturers embed a floppy controller when there's no floppy drive, or even a PORT for a floppy drive, escapes me. This was a big-time show stopper when I first tried to use PT 11.

sw rec, thank you for the suggestion but I've already checked that . Unless someone can decipher the error I posted from Windows Event Log, I think I'm going to be stuck with either a fresh OS install, or maybe just getting another hard drive and installing an OS on there.
