OK, fair enough.
As you say, not for the faint-hearted ... and not until your warranty (and Applecare if you bought it) has expired, because I guess this would invalidate it. On the other hand, we all know how exhorbitant having RAM installed by Apple is ... ;-)

Plenty of hardware synths, rack gear, microphones etc. And then there's the studio ;-)
