Default Sluggish unresponsive scrub

Hi All,

I'm getting a very unsatisfactory scrub. No video in the session - one peice of audio running from an internal.

I've trashed all prefs - still bad.

Any clues?

intel 2x2.66 quad core
10.5.8
8gb ram

Unsatisfactory as in after exiting scrub it takes a few seconds before the system becomes responsive again?? I'm getting that on 8.01

no - sluggish like I drag my mouse and the scrub carries on for about half a second after i stop. I'm trying to track down clips and pops so i need the scrubber to stop when i stop.

Have you tried setting your hardware buffer as low as it will go when scrubbing?

Sorry - didn't read your post accurately enough

have you tried deleting unused regions in your session?
Maybe you are seeing a remnant of the separate regions bug?

You have a similar config to mine

cheers
