Default error message: This volume set to \"transfer only\"

I go to open my project that I was working on fine with last night, and I get that all of the disks (internal/external) are set to transfer, the V column has all the drives set to R, but when I go to change the A column to Record it says that it isn't a valid audio volume.

Also, I installed and upgrade avid xpress pro 4.8 which is not compatible to osx 10.4.8 Could this be causing the problem?

Any ideas?

Thanks...

I had to use the OS software to format my external drive to get it to work....You may want to try that (It's under utilities).

The upgrade could be a problem, but don't take my word on that.....someone else can probably better answer that question for you.

Sorry....the utility you need is called "Disc Utility" You need to format it as Journalized.

Go to Applications, utilities, then Disc Utility.

Good luck.

you need to format your drive with the disk utility function, dont forget to put it as "journaled". happened to us when we updated to 10.4.10.

Hope you can get your system to work asap

ciao!

So I have to erase all of my drives for PT to see them as recordable again? I'm also unable to change from transfer to recordable on my internal drives as well. Maybe re-install the software?

thanks

I've had this happen before, and I just close PT and reopen, then it allows me to change to R.
