Some opinions needed here..

Right now I am running a G4 400 Yikes Mac with 001, I use reason 2.0 and Logic 5.0 I have not used Pro Tools in quite a while.. I would like to update to a new machine, and start using Pro Tools 6.0..Along with Logic Pro 6 and Reason 2.5. What I am debating is what is the better machine, a new dual G4 1.25 or the G5 1.8.. I know if I go with the G5 I won't be able to use the 001 so please don't bring this into the factor of which is the better machine for the money.. Thanks

Please go dual and be a happy person! Trust me. We have a dual 2.gig G5 at work and a Dual 1.25 G4 at home - I think the G4 is faster. But of course the G5 is connected to an HD 3 accel... so it can do ALOT more. But for LE the dual 1.25 is the Shiznit.... And you save like $1K

I also have a G4 Dual 1.25, no probs here. I bought it because I wnated to get a bit more life out of my 001 whilst still using the pinnacle of G4 technology.

Same here,,DP MDD 1.25,,001,,reason 2.5,,PT6 got my re-wire hapening,,I'm still on JAG X.2.3,,but will up grade if and when DIGI give extra features in PT6,,couldn't be happier,,
