Default Does this mean we get 5.3.1 upgrades in the next few weeks??

The following qoute was taken from a Digi response to another post regarding MP3 options:

"Because there are so many different versions of MP3 Option, we were waiting for the latest versions for 5.3.1 before changing the way it is purchased from the DigiStore. In the next couple of weeks we'll change the structure so that purchasers will be pointed to the correct download of MP3 Option to match each version of Pro Tools at the time of purchase, which should be much less confusing. "

So if I interpret this correctly, we should be seeing an upgrade for us in the next few weeks right? He says they are waiting for all of the versions of 5.3.1 to be available before they update the MP3 page which they are doing "In the next couple of weeks". On the Digi site in the XP 5.3 section, at the bottom, it says 5.3 will be shipping with new 001 systems by mid July. I think it reasonable to assume that at the latest, 5.3 will be available by then cause I don’t think they would have the ba11s to ship these units out without being available to both platforms prior to doing so.

Again though, just speculation at best…

I think you're right. They probably just wanted to release the PC version first because the PCers are always squaking like baby birds with their mouths open. Soon, we'll all be one happy family again!

OK--I already posted this e-mail response from digi--read and weep...

The 5.3.1 LE version is only available to Windows XP users at this
time. However, Mac OSX support is currently being engineered and will
be available this fall. The version level is yet to be announced.
Stay tuned to our website for future information and updates.

All plug-ins have to be rewritten for OS X.... however the odds are that LE v5.3.x will have DAE made part of the app (like HD 5.3) so all plug-ins will have to be rewritten for that (or use the HD RTAS versions) anyway. Otherwise software companies will have to sell 3 versions - this will consolodate into have OS 9 and OS X versions only.
