Its looking like the new Markers stuff is whats causing a lot of the slowdowns in Avid Control. Turning that pref of does help, whilst we look into it.

For the next release we have managed to move software processing threads around so that instead of an 'old/slow' tablet just falling offline it waits to catch up now. We will next look at speeding that up too.

Both the new 13th gen Fire 11 and 10 have switched to new CPU's and are way faster now. We still hope to make the older 9th and 11th gen Fire 10s better though.

Interesting! Maybe it's because you're on PT23.6? Over here the dropping off didn't really start until the later 2023 PT versions I think.
I'm not even using the meters. 99.9% on the hotkey page, 2-3 times a day on the channel page to do some panning.

Some of this is not necessarily the "speed" but the tech features used to create that speed. Wifi 6 uses OFDMA+MU-MIMO so the link should be theoretically more robust. I've been playing with other settings (WMM, Airtime Fairness, Zero Wait DFS) and it seems (too early to tell but give me a week) that turning off Airtime Fairness has improved/stabilized the connection. Which kind of makes sense as the Fire tablets are the slowest thing on my wifi.

As for the 2.5Gb/10Gb that's just because I have ISP service of 2.5Gb up to 5Gb on fiber. Saturating the bandwidth with transferring data at those speeds on the same NIC that is running Eucon can kick Eucon off. I used to see Eucon devices disconnect and then rejoin once large transfers were done. That was even more annoying when the data transfer wasn't initiated by me but was a background cloud sync (someone sending new picture.)

The elephant in my room is that the 9 year old ipad mini2 (with a dying display) is rock solid. It's connected all day and doesn't drop off and it doesn't even have 5Ghz Wifi. Works great over a Ubiquity AP AC pro. Even with the marker display on. (I tried turning that off on the FHD but it made zero difference)
I guess I'll just stick to that if the Amazon stuff is still slower a decade after ipad mini2
I'm definitely not investing in a new 650€ iPad mini for a bunch of hotkeys or replace my entire network setup just to be able to run the Amazon cheapo hardware. I only went for the HD10 because the iPad's display was slowly dying. I guess I'll look on ebay for cheap Ipad mini. I only use it for EC.

Oh, I need to update my signature - on 2023.9 and latest version of Eucon. Haven't got around to .12 yet, but will soon...

In Avid Control, Settings, Markers. You can turn off the marker timeline.
