Default iLOK issue

I recently purchased the full version of Hybrid, downloaded and did the iLOK thing. All works fine. The issue is, everytime I load in a session where I use Hybrid, it wants to see the iLOK key. Why would I need to do this more than once? Is there something I'm supposed to do so that PT "knows" that Hybrid is now good to go?

Putting the iLOK key in the USB port works, its just, I don't want to have to do it every time I load Hybrid.

Thanks

You don't have an iLok issue.
That's the way an iLok works.
You plug it in, you get to use the software.

You have to plug it in every single time you want to run the software? That's bonkers!

Being surprised by that is about the same as being surprised that you can't drive a car without the key.

That's what a key is.
That's what a key does.

If your definition of "bonkers" is "the way it was designed to be used," then maybe you have a point.

Here's a suggestion: leave it plugged in. Brilliant, yes?

That comparison doesn't really work. If the software is duly purchased and registered then it really is redundant to have to "tell" the system every time you want to boot it up "yes, I did pay for this and am allowed to use it!" That's not how 99.99% of software works where licenses are concerned. I don't have to put in a key everytime I turn on my PC to let it know that I own the right to use the window xp ops.

As for leaving the key plugged in: I need that slot for other things quite often.

But, my original questioned has been answered: this is how the iLOK system is supposed to work. I still think its overkill and unnecessary, but I'm not going argue about it. If this is how it is designed to work and I didn't overlook doing something, then so be it.

Thanks for answering the question.

PTLE doesn't require an iLok. M Powered does.

And...get a powered USB hub, then hazzah!...you'll have more USB slots

You just reminded of something I TOTALLY forgot I had here. I've got one which I've never even taken out of the box. Totally forgot I even had the thing. ]
