Blue Cat's PatchWork 1.4 Released, with Improved MIDI and Parallel Chains
Hi,
Just wanted to let you know that Blue Cat's PatchWork 1.4 is here! We have just released an update for Blue Cat's PatchWork, adding new features and compatibility improvements to our "universal plug-ins patch bay" plug-in. Blue Cat's PatchWork 1.4 now includes MIDI channel filtering for hosted VST or Audio Unit plug-ins, parallel processing chains improvements (selectable summing mode and solo buttons), and several compatibility improvements on Mac. (full list below). The update is free for existing customers and is available for download from the same page as the initial purchase (link received by email). Demo versions can also be downloaded on http://www.bluecataudio.com, in VST, RTAS, AAX, Audio Unit and DirectX formats, for both Mac and PC (32 and 64-bit). New Features: - Selectable parallel processing chains summing mode: sum or average. - Solo button for parallel chains. - MIDI Channel filtering for each plug-in input. Fixes and compatibility improvements: - Fixed undo/redo incompatibilities with some plug-ins. - (Mac) Fixed crash introduced in 1.3 when trying to load missing VST plug-ins. - (Mac) Fixed wrong plug-in instantiated in some cases when selected from a VST shell package. - (Mac) Fixed crash after closing the editor of an Audio Unit plug-in loaded with SoundRadix's 32Lives. More details about the new features are available on our blog. Enjoy!

New skins available too! Is it just me, or is the current black/dark blue thing just hard to read?
http://www.bluecataudio.com/Skins/Pr...kin_SatYatunes Update: works great, and my old eyes can actually READ it now. Just make sure you put the skins in the correct folder. Last edited by sw rec; 07-25-2014 at 06:03 AM. |

Re: Blue Cat's PatchWork 1.4 Released, with Improved MIDI and Parallel Chains
Anyone knows if it's possible to control normal plugin parameters (not VI's) from a midi HUI controller?
(As it is now, midi only works with VI software in Pro Tools and not channel plugins) Say I wan't to control the waves SSL channelstrip from a Mackie, or any other midi controller and use it kind of like the Softtube Console 1. Is that possible??? That would be fantastic!

Re: Blue Cat's PatchWork 1.4 Released, with Improved MIDI and Parallel Chains
I use a Novation Zero SLII in conjunction with Patchwork to control plugins.
Works a treat I use Automap wrapped VSTs (my main channel strip is the Duende SSL) as the handling is better than their Audiounit counterparts. In conjunction with my trusty Command 8, this is a great solution for me. I'm currently trying to persuade Novation to fix the naming of individual plug-in instances within Automap, so that the Zero SL browser feature works properly. A couple of plug-ins I've tried have had issues (Slate VBC and Lexicon PCM Reverb and Effects) but these didn't work well with the Command 8's mapping either, so I hesitate to blame either Patchwork or Automap. It's only since I started using this system that I've come to appreciate how useful it is to be able to recall chains of plug-ins! |

I guess that means automap only works on none AAX plugins from now on, hmm...
