Default why does my tempo increase when i bounce to disk?

my session sounds normal when i play it on t pro tools but after i bounce it and listen to it as a .wav file, it sounds way faster. I read it might be sample rate mismatch but im not sure. help pls?

How much is way? What are you clocking to? What is your session rate? What are your bounce down settings? Am I asking too many questions at once?

Hi,

Sounds like your session was clocked to a different source when you recorded the audio and when you bounce down it bounces at the sessions frequency which is different to what it was when recorded.

example: the session was clocked to 48k when recorded, but is actually a 44.1 k session so when you bounce it reverts to 44.1, hence the change is speed.

fix; create a new session at the actual frequency (say 48k in the example above) and use import session data and don't sue sample rate convert on import.

When I first made the session I set it at 16/44. I did the same when I bounced it to disc. Still not resolved. I even imported the data to different empty sessions and set it to 24/44, 24/48, 16/48, etc.still not resolved.

What hardware do you have? Try this; Assuming its supposed to be a 44.1K session, create a new session at 48K. Next, choose File>Import Session Data and navigate to the original session. Select all the tracks for import BUT, make sure the Apply SRC is NOT checked. Once all the data appears in your new session, play it and see if it sounds correct. If it does, run your bounce to disk with 44.1K as your target. I am thinking that your hardware was running at 48K, so your audio is confused(I did the same thing a while back with my 003, a 44.1K session, and a lightpipe preamp as the clock source, but the lightpipe unit was set to 48K).

I have an mbox3. I tried opening a new seesion and set it to 48k then bounced it to 44k. Still plays faster. I tried a lot different things and I cant solve the problem. I ended up opening 13 new sessions by trying different combinations and nothing works. It always plays faster. I have no idea what it could be.

There's a known clock issue with some early Mbox 3s. Contact customer service.
