Default Help. Crash opening pre 24 mix sessions

power mac 9500/g3 300 208 ram os 8.51 pt 4.3.1 mix core/2 vintage dsp cards

just today had to open some older files that i have not opened since updating to mix/24.
when i try to open any of these sessions i crash the whole system. is this that res edit thing in a old thread i read about and was glad it wasn't
happening to me..... help i got clients breathing down my neck....
update: i just discovered it's only with sessions that i have a mpg in. it looks for the mpg and can't seem to find it. i show it where it is and then it
crashes.
