Playback starts wherever I make a selection or any insert point

I have a problem where if I am playing form an insertion point and select anything else, it will stop and start to play the selection or anywhere I click a new insertion point. I want the audio to keep playing even after making new selections. It's as if I am clicking on the timeline. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Do u have "link timeline & edit selection" engaged? (I believe thatz it;not @ my rig rite now)

I have already tried that. I want it to keep playing even if I make other selections. But it starts to playback from the new selection right away.

press "n" and try it again......

ps:make sure keyboard focus is enabled in the edit window for this to work though.

That only changes the marker from going back to the original point...he says it plays @ any selection point he makes even if its already playing...

Something to do with dynamic transport maybe? Heck, maybe you have a stuck spacebar =)

Well that still wouldn't actually cause playback from clicking anywhere in the edit window...

Thanks for the suggestions everybody. It must be something other than link timeline & edit selection. I've tried that. Maybe it's some kind of glitch. The preferences are matched with the other rigs in the other rooms but they don't have this problem.

Yeah I was gonna say try trashing preferences etc. & see if that clears it up b/c I wasn't able to re-produce it... I could be missing som'n as I haven't eaten my FruitSnacks yet but I don't think I missed anything...
