PT 2019 Font Change
Has anyone else noticed the font has changed slightly on clips in the edit window?
I didn't really notice at first, but today I was editing up a long 30 min VO recording that has a lot of edits and I noticed I was straining to see the names on the clips. I thought to myself, this looks different. So I opened up the same session in 2018.7 (I have them both installed concurrently) and there is definitely a difference. Here's a couple of comparison pics. Pro Tools 2018.7 Pro Tools 2019.5 The font seems to be slightly bolder with an increased contrast/brightness. If you look closely, you'll also see the contrast has been increased on the actual channel colours and meters as well. Does anyone else find this harder to look at/work with? I don't mid the change in contrast on the channel, it's the font I find hard on the eyes. I'm not sure this is one of those things you get used to. It really seems harder to work with to my eyes and I actually have 20/20 vision. Thoughts? |

Re: PT 2019 Font Change
Thanks for chiming in.
If you have the time, I’d be curious to see what it looks like on Windows. To me, the new font style almost looks blurry. The kerning is too tight and it’s just harder to read. FYI - I’m on a 27” 2K display. Would also be interested to hear from others using 1080p displays and 4K displays. Not sure if it makes a difference or not. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Yes
I can confirm this here on my mac. Its not so easy to read longer names anymore. Would be good if they revert it in the next 2019.6 version I dont understand why companies change things when there is no need of. Ale

Great. Happy it’s not just me. You’re right, the longer the name, the worse it is. I also find if text is capitalised, it’s even worse. I do hope someone looks into this as it’s quite fatiguing. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Re: PT 2019 Font Change
There is a difference between these fonts, I liked the old one better. This new font seems to blur, it looks blurry, and I can't read it. The good thing is that I can download a font that I can read so as not to torment my eyes. I found it on https://upfonts.com/iciel-gotham-medium-font/, and I was very happy about it. In addition, the font is very beautiful and interesting. I have a little trouble with my eyesight, and it is not so easy to find a suitable font. Even though I wear glasses, it's still difficult for me.
