Default Monitoring Problem

I am having a monitoring problem where I cannot hear an armed track, or see the level of that track when it is set to "record" but only playing back, not actually recording. I have gone thru all basic tricks (deleting prefs, databases, repair permissions, etc) . This seemed to fix the problem the last time I had it but now , nothing. I am set to auto-input monitor, and using low latency mode, changing either of these has no effect.

6.9.2 on 10.4.6. 002R.

Default Re: Monitoring Problem

one note ... if I choose input-only monitoring I can hear the signal during playback, but still no meters.

i know its not supposed to work this way. i have always used auto-input monitoring, low-latency mode and had signal and meters when just monitoring an armed track against other material during playback. if I actually record i get both signal and meters in both monitoring modes.

something is buggy between the input and the software.

and ideas?
