Yeah, I'd say that Multiband must be as brilliant as Pro Limiter for that price.
And Subharmonics must go down to Lowender's price. And it lacks Bass gate knob

These are both great plug-ins. DSP is a big plus, they will get a lot of use here.

The other great aspect of Avid plugins is that if you work with a facility that doesn't own them, they can rent the plugin. So far Avid are the best deal for rental - others that do it charge almost 50% of the cost of the plugin.

Would like to know that as well. Haven't had time to try it yet.

Just tried out Pro Multiband and Pro Subharmonic.

Good fun, though at the moment ProMB is behaving a little weirdly with some controls snapping back even though auto is off.

One major disappointment though, band splitting only works in stereo or multi-mono, no multichannel - 5.1, 7.1, etc.

On ProSub, it's a great little plugin - I was able to add a whole new bass line to a track - fab!

That was just playing with a music track I love, but I'm about to try them out on a 5.1 trailer mix. Watch this space!

Hi Neil,

I haven't tried the Pro Sub yet but I have plenty of time with Maxxbass. Just to let you know they are sort of opposite processes, so a comparison is probably not really appropriate. Maxxbass generates harmonics an octave or more ABOVE the target frequency, so it is good for taking bass lines or kick drums that have too much sub and redirecting some of the energy into the higher bass registers, so that they reproduce a sense of bass better on small speakers.

Pro Sub or Lowender or other processors like them generate harmonics an octave BELOW the target frequency, so they are good for beefing up sounds that are lacking in bottom end.

:)

One less talked about plug-in, which is part of the Pro Multiband Dynamics, is the Pro Multiband Splitter. That one alone has many creative uses as has already been put to good use on my end. It's great to see Avid developing multi-output plug-ins. I hope we see more down the line.

The splitter still only works in stereo or multimono. You could fashion your own splitter with eqs on aux inputs.
