i believe they are for different platforms. evil drums by platinum samples is for bfd (1.5-2) only. i love it and use it all the time, and the metal foundry is for superior drummer i believe?

Metal Foundry is awesome to say the least.Been using it for 2 weeks now.Warning though..........the dvd's are messed up and will not install correctly. This problem is all over Toontracks forum.Basically for me disk #1 installed the program correctly but the other 4 disks would not install the sounds.I had to manually copy the "sounds" folder of each disk and paste it into the programs main sounds folder.I bought mine for $139 at Florida music.

was not sure if you had them or if you had neither apps or what. i have not used the metal foundry so i can only speak for the one expansion.

they are mostly pork pie kits and pieces. all in all it sounds great. they are not complete finished out kit pieces. they still need some eq and compression. they were treated when tracking but not "finished". all the kit pieces sound big and full. they lend themselves nicely to rock but for metal i typically use some steven slate samples for the serious attack sound layered over the kick snare and sometimes toms. i own quite a few sample banks and it is one of my most used

Metal Foundry has presets that have eq,comp, etc already applied in its mixer and you do have the option of "bouncing down" its "mixer" mix with the effects applied. You can't go wrong with this expansion pack.

oh yea.... forgot to mention that. there is presets for all the kits with eq,comp, verb and such with evil drums as well, and also a CRAP load of midi loops and some extras as well. i just never use the presets myself so typically dont think about them. there is also extra kit pieces and such you get to download after purchasing on the platinum samples website.
