Alright. i have a stupid stupid issue...

so i recently moved my studio from my garage to my bedroom and now... everything is set up the way i want it however i had to lose my novation maudio controller... but in the past i have connected my Motif XS8 to pro tools as a MIDI controller but now... i cannot remember and it is one of those moments where i am completely blanking out for no reason, I use a Presonus STUDIOLIVE 16.0.2 board i just cant remember the midi wire sequence...

a detailed tutorial (if any) would be great! like i said before i used the behemoth-of-a-keyboard as a midi controller as well as a synth just cannot remember!

Hi, and welcome.
If your motif doesn't have usb, you'll need a usb midi interface and a midi cable from midi out on the motif to the midi interface.

Yamaha is incredibly stupid when it comes to using their Motifs as MIDI controllers for anything other than note entry. All those nice sliders and controls only work with USB MIDI and not the old standard 5 pin MIDI connectors. IIRC you also need a special program from Yamaha on that.
