Default G4/450 compatibility

Following Haze's path, can someone tell when tests concerning compatibility with sawtooth mother boards and especially 450 mhz machines will be completed ?
Does Digi 001 will, for example, take full advantage of the Velocity engine on such machines?
Thanks for your answers and for this very informative forum.

I'm running 5.0LE with Digi001 on a G4/450
and having no problems so far. As far as I
know (and heard at the demo), 5.0LE does NOT
currently support the optimization of the
Vel Engine, but will in the next version
released. KW

KW,

Are you using an internal or external hard drive with your G4? I'm trying to determine if I can go the route of a high capacity internal drive (either the one shipped with the system or a second drive I would add later).

Thanks,

Paul

Hi again and thanks for the infos.
I think I will stick with the internal 20 GB
ATA HD since I read somewhere in this forum that it seems to work fine.
What you say?

Paul, go with an internal. Nice and neat.
I bought an IBM Deskstar 37.5 Gig drive for
$510 from Promax. I use it mostly for video
files and sometimes audio. The internal
27 gig drive that came with my G4/450 is
completely up to the task and I've had no
problems. That will work too. Good luck.

I just added a western digital 27.3GB to my 450 im preparation for my 001 system. I got it for $244. Good to hear about success with the G4 450. Are you running OS 9 or 8.6? Has anyone seen 128 MB SDRAM for less than $200?

Using 8.6. I haven't seen much of a reason
to upgrade to 9.0 and have heard of some
slowdowns. 8.6 is very stable, so...I'll wait. KW
