Default Virtual Instruments Missing

....I have just upgraded my software from PT LE 8 - PT 10.3.5 and although the PT is working great my VI's are missing. I have read other posts on this topic but have had no luck as of yet.

I did a clean uninstall, than ran the download again for PT 10.3.5, than I ran the VI installer but the Vi's are not showing up.

If I go to applications than into my Avid folder I have the VI's all there but when I click on them there is only an exec small program. I thought exec were pc programs, not mac.

Any help would be greatly Appreciated!

when you installed the VI installation, did you change the install location to a different drive? I just upgraded from 8.0.5 to 10.3.5

I did that and my Pro tools VIs were missing, Pro tools couldnt find them. Run the install and keep the location the system drive.

They should show up.

Thank you very much for you're reply.

I am quite certain I did this, but I will have another go.
VI's are showing up in Applications along with Pro Tools and Licences but I cant seem to access them. I have done the clean uninstall, and reinstall of PT and VI's many times but nothing seems to work.
This is beyond the scope of my computer literacy. I tried clicking on the little (.big) file; but I am not sure what it is, how to open it, or what to do with it if I did open it.

Any help with this matter would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks.

I remember that after I installed some new VIs (Instrument Expansion Pack) I couldn't access them in PT either. Turns out they were in the 'unused plugins' folder for some reason.

I just moved them out of there and they showed up fine.

Please Help!!
I am running PT 10.3.5 and my OS is 10.8.3 Mac.
I have all my downloads in my Avid account.
Pro Tools is running fine but my VI's will are not in PT's.
They are in Applications/Avid/Virtual instruments. However, when I open up Boom,Mini Grand...etc there is a exec grey square installer program that will not open. Probably because it is a PC Windows based program "not" a Mac based program. I am certan I downloaded the correct installer, because I did it a few times. Does anybody have any idea what this type of program is doing in a Mac download???

Avid???

Question: What are you talking about when you see it is a pc or a mac download? The grey square is the icon: (if that's what you are talking about) you don't need to worry about that. Those are just .big file that open with Pro Tools.

Are your icons greyed out? If so then just try to reinstall everything.
