Installing MBOX 2 on Vista

Hello Everyone,

I recently acquired a MBOX 2 from a friend to start learning to use Pro Tools. I currently have a Windows Vista machine HP DV9000 and am having a really rough time getting Pro Tools to install.The install disk that I have for LE 7 is only for Windows XP, but what I did was a force install and then was going to install the VISTA update for PT LE. Pro Tools has appears to have installed, Icons in place, files installed etc. But when I go to install the update I keep getting an error message stating that I do not have Pro Tools installed. Is there any place I can get Vista LE install disk or atleast the file? Or any trick I can use to get Pro Tools running?

7.3.1.and earlier are not qualified for Vista. At the Digi store, 7.4 is a paid upgrade. What are you using as an “update.”

Also note, on 7.4 and higher your audio drive must be formatted NTFS “basic.”

I tried using files from the support and downloads section. But I guess the Vista compatible 7.4 stuff has to be installed from the get go for Vista. I see for sale on Digidesign the upgrades for for 7.4 LE here http://store.digidesign.com/us/index...x&categoryid=7

But is that just an upgrade? I think what I need is an installer that works for vista.

It will ask you to uninstall all previous versions first, then it will do a full install. The upgrade part is: To buy it at the upgrade price, Digi wants you to already own a prior version. ...and you do if you have an MBOX.
