Default Re: AAX upgrades for LE plugins

Right, I mean feature-wise and tone-wise they're identical, I get that, but I have a bundle on my iLok with both. So if some people have a single non-bundled asset for LE, that's what's not activating. Seems pretty rude to just take that away from those people. Just update the AAX-64 plugin to allow native processing if LE is the only asset on the iLok, and enable DSP if the bundle is there. Seems pretty obvious how to solve it. Same with Smack! LE.

There's some confusion here.

Prior to AAX, there was Eleven TDM, and Eleven LE, both for separate purchase, and both identical in features, amps, cabs, etc., with the difference being the TDM one required for TDM systems to take advantage of the DSP of the cards (and more expensive).

There was also the free version that comes bundled with Protools, and still does (with 2 amps/cabs).

With AAX, there is one version called Eleven, which works natively or with the DSP of HDX. This is the one being given away with the purchase of Eleven Rack or Mbox Pro. And there is still the free lite version that comes with Protools.

What Avid has fixed is matching the license to the new installer. Those with an Eleven LE license can now use that to authorize the AAX installer, which is needed to use it in PT11.

On a separate note, none of these software versions have the additional amps/cabs/effects that are in the Eleven Rack hardware.

Unfortunately that has not been so in my case, cannot authorise Eleven AAX on 10 or 11.

It is yet to be seen whether the Eleven LE license enables both the native and DSP versions of Eleven. I'd wager that the LE license only enables the native version while the full license enables both native and DSP.

Thanks but I've got it working (thanks to Top Jimmy), I didn't realise it was a separate installer in the PT11 download, thats not available on the Eleven page download, up and running

Not as glad as I am
Cannot live without Eleven at this point, even though I have the Eleven rack you can do a couple of things with the Eleven PI, that I've not been able to totally replicate with the rack version, mainly to do with conversion and gain stage control.

Gonk,

What can you do specifically with the plugin that you can't do with the rack? I'm curious. Apart from the obvious - multiple instances.
