Thoughts on G4 upgrades for PowerMac?

I have a PowerMac 9500/120. A bit underpowered by todays standards I'm considering the Digi001 but concerned about horsepower as it is host dependent. I'm entertaining the idea of buying one of the late G3/G4 upgrade processors to add the neccessary hp but don't know how reliable or efficient they are. The other alternative is to go "blue"..but that would put me in the hole as far as $$$. Can any one comment? Thanks all.

I think I would go with the G3 or a G4 after Digi gets everything worked out on the new motherboards. I think you would be alot more happy and have alot fewer problems if you get a new Mac. Digi said they could never test all the older combinations of equipment, so that means you'd be sailing an unchartered coarse. I'd rather spend my time being productive than trying to work out unforeseen kinks.

In terms of upgrade cards, we don't test them, but I have heard good things about the Newer Tech upgrade cards, although that was for PT24--I don't know how they will fare with the 001, we'll have to just wait and see. Stay away from the Sonnet cards.
