Well, Im in the same batch...
I'm am waiting for my 001 to come in and sitting @ home is my Beige G3/300 512mb ram. What is weird is that the product specialist that demo'ed the 001 ran it on a beige G3 266 with 192mb ram running OS 8.6. It was fine the whole time... He had all 24 tracks playing with RTAS on most of them. If it comes down to it I am willing to sell my G3 for a G4.. The intermittent performance issues with the beige G3 effect the Digi001 and do not effect the AMIII card.
Unfortunately, I can't confirm or deny the effects on 3rd party software due to the intermittent nature of the beige G3 problem and the shorter testing cycles with 3rd party frontends. [This message has been edited by DigiCS (edited 11-10-99).]
