Default Re: the quality of just the 003 rack?

Why is the 003 > 003R? The control surface? What if the user doesn't need a control surface or doesn't want to pay for the control surface for each upgrade?

If you don't need the control surface you get the 2626, hands down. The 2626 is great for tracking overdubs and working with choice outboard. The 1640i is great for tracking small bands. The 003 Console inComplete is great for mixing where you might need the 128 tracks and a means of entering rides.

Unwilling to let people buy something that works flexibly for a market price, digi insists on your making redundant purchases or hemorrhaging vast cash on an obsolete HD + C|24 rig.

So... a guy comes to the Digi forums inquiring about some PT gear, and you feel the need to slander Digidesign?

Do you have any other purpose on these forums other than antagonizing others, Peppertree?

If you don't like Digi, why are you even here?

Oh man...

Are you sure you want to hear his philosophy? Because you are likely to hear it now..

I would advise that you just click on his name is a post, then choose "view all posts by this user" then read up a bit.. really no need to have him spell it out hissef..

Hard to claim slander when Avid has made clear written statements confirming my claims in this thread.

Heh. Perhaps you're right. It just bewilders me that people like him exist on this forum.

We're here to help each other out, are we not?

Pepper:

I'm not disputing your "claims," but you also said he should just switch to Logic because Digi is apparently falling apart. I'm pretty sure Avid hasn't written clear statements about that. I'm pretty sure they'd rather talk about how they are the industry standard for both digital video and audio industries. Give me a break. If you don't like Digi, don't use it. Better still, go somewhere where that kind of attitude is appreciated.

That's his gig, though... Techno-martyr-ism.. He likes trying to duck the darts

And hard to imagine being more helpful than trying to help people avoid wasting money on obsolete or substandard equipment purchases.

Ok, so I'm going to come to your place of business while you're dealing with a customer, and start telling him about all the things you aren't good at doing. Then I'll tell him he should switch to your competition until you get your act together. Seems pretty helpful to me.

A complaint is a gift. If Avid is failing in any area (and hard to argue they aren't failing in all of them ) there is no more crucial information for them to internalize and act upon. They are able to introduce a "no criticism" rule here, but they have not, and it would not help them in the slightest to do so. Quite the contrary.

Furthermore, you have way overstepped your own bounds lecturing me on what I should do and where. Just fyi.
