Once you get Sandra running make sure you generate a report that looks like this... (just a thread I picked a5 random): http://duc.avid.com/showthread.php?t=267129. Just cut and paste text like that here, some folks try to post far too much/wrong stuff.

It seems like Sandra Lite wants to keep crashing and it looks like when it's looking at my AMD Radeon HD 6450 1GB DDR3 graphics card. I have checked the driver and according to AMD, it's up to date.... I'll check again tomorrow but I think it's up to date. WE are only using a 27" monitor, Analog connection and 1080p... It seems like the system stops, I get the do you want to look on the internet for a solution (no help) or, close the program... I just close the program.

So, I kind of stuck for the moment.

In the mean time, I have sent RME a detailed email and see if they have any suggestions.

I really hope we can get this all working as I really love the SonyDMXr100, I've been using it for the last 25 years with a number of different set ups... it is a great sounding board and have the 24 preamps with great A/D converters.... Hopefully with everyone pitching in we can get this squared away... Thanks for evereyone's help

If you have motherboard graphics you can try popping that card and see if it runs. If you have antivirus/malware software fully disable it or uninstall it.

I will be doing more exploration this morning, I'm pretty sure that no Anti Virus is on.

When I did the test this time, I was on the Hardware Tab, clicked on the computer overview. It sat there for a while and then came up with the program had stopped.... it was late and I didin't want' to spend anymore time last night, so I'll go out and check in to it more this morning.

I'll be posting things as I find them (if that's OK)... it seems everything is still working great with Cubase 9.5, but folks say Protools can be a bit picky...

Thanks again for the suggestions....
Dave

Mismatched RAM is rarely a good idea. I would pull the 2 Nanya 2GB sticks and fill those slots with 2 that are the exact same as the current Samsung(only buy the exact same part number). You also could simply remove the Nanya sticks, place the Samsung in the proper 2 slots and test(refer to the motherboard manual to see which slots should be used when installing only 2 sticks).

I also see a lot of drive letters, but am not sure how many physical drives you have(good on you for using an SSD for system). It looks like you have 3 partitions on the Seagate drive? What is the purpose of each partition? If you are recording to the Seagate(any of the 3 partitions), the other partitions should NOT be used for sample libraries(asking a spinning drive to stream audio AND stream samples will most likely hurt performance).

Thanks for the info on the memory... that is a great point... I am probably going to upgrade the memory to the total 16gb so I'd have all the same memory.

As for drives, Yes, the OS and program drive is a Samsung SSD 500Gb, the other drive is as you see split in to 3 patricians, but I only use one patrician for protools audio, sessions and anything related to Protools... It probably is showing a couple of other drives that are there for backup of the system ... One thing I have is Lots of drives.. .they are all 7200 rpm drives.

now Keep in mind, I"ll probably go ahead and purchase a new system that will be PT specific, and that will have a 1TB ssd M2 PCie and a 2TB 7200 drive for audio to start with...

I am in the studio today working on optimization and I"ll keep you posted on my progress...

Why would you do that? Put the audio on the M.2 drive which is factors faster than the HDD.

Dave has already mentioned what I would, and make sure you are not using the slow USB2/SATA II drive for anything.
