Upgrading to Pro Tools 9

Hi guys,

I'm about to upgrade from Pro Tools LE 7.4 to Pro Tools 9 on a Mac Book Pro running OSX 10.5.7 but have some unfinished material still on version 7.4 ... I'd like some advice on when and how to upgrade ... For example is it advisable to finish the existing 7.4 version material before upgrading or will an upgrade now enhance the finished item due to the additional features and capabilities that version 9 has over and above v7.4 ... ?

Secondly, do I need to perform the upgrade in a specific sequence ... ie Start by upgrading the OSX, then the Pro Tools version and finally the drivers and plug-ins - or does the order of events not make a great deal of difference ...???

Any advice, thoughts or tips would be greatly appreciated ...

not sure, if you will run into trouble with that upgrade, but I 'd think, that you should either finish your sessions in 7 or be prepared to just import the tracks into 9 and start over from there. I am pretty sure, that you will have all sorts of issues with old plug ins and so on, if you attempt to just open your old sessions in 9.
