Mismatched Firmware

I am running 6.4 with all the updates. I just bought an 002 with an upgraded internal clock. Problem: the 002 is loaded with firmware version 1.21, but from what I can see the 6.4 has the firmware version 1.20. hence the system does not show signal. ProTools sees the 002r but no signal. Any ideas of how to fix this firmware issue? I can not find any firmware updates for my software.

software doesn't have firmware......Hardware has firmware....it is inside of let's say a eprom chip inside your 002.....

Software has revision updates.....I wasn't onboard with any DAW when 6.4 was out....so i have no idea what is the latest version that Avid came out for 6.4.X......

Correct, Software updates the Firmware residing in the Hardware

@bubba2112 I doubt it's a Firmware issue although of course, I could be wrong. There are other checks to make before concluding it's the firmware. It's most likely a second hand unit so the question has to be asked; did you check that the 002 was working properly when you bought it before you brought it home?

You need to provide more info on your setup. Are you able to post some snapshots of an open session as well as your I/O setup in PT.

The first thing to do is post a Sandra Report;

The 002r I have was running 8.0, I have 6.4, The prompt states that I need to download firware v1.20, I try too, but it doesn't find it. The 002 currently has a newer version v1.21, is my only course to get the newer 8.0 protools? This is what I am thinking.

The "download" is not from the internet, its actually already in the software. Next time you start Prop Tools and it ask if you want to "download" the firmware, click on okay and go for a walk(it can take 25-30 minutes). The firmware will "download" from the computer, to the 002.
