Default Bfd 2

Hello, all,

Anyone using BFD Version 1? Are you getting multiple outputs, or are you limited to stereo?

I know thet Version 2 has its own mixing system, but I was just wondering how the RTAS protocal works as far as outputs go.

In another thread I asked about Garritan Personal Orchestra and Jazz And Big Band, but nobody seems to be using them here.

in the mixer window in bfd 2 each channel has a selectable output. any of these selectable outputs are available inside pro tools. very simple and WAY easier than bfd 1.x you can get multiple outs in bfd 1 by using ultra. but bfd 2 simplified the whole process. plus you can render your drums offline with a session open and drag them into the session. this is about 20-45 minutes quicker per song than what i could do in bfd 1.

BFD 1 Lite is limited to stereo outputs.

BFD 1 Full is capable of multiple outputs as long as you are using Pro Tools version 6.7 or above, or using the rewire version of the plugin. You also need to select the proper version of the plugin to be able to use the multiple outputs.

BFD 2 is, by far, the best choice between them all.

Thanx for the reply, SPK.

BFD 2 is on tha cards as soon as "the accountant" will agree.

Do you have any thoughts on why I'm only getting stereo from Garritan Personal Orchestra in PT? I get multiple outputs in Sonar? I also have Kontakt Player 2.

Updated versions are available directly from the manufacturer of the product with which your copy of BFD Lite was bundled.
The above is a quote from the "BFD" site. I want to move from BFD Lite to BFD 2. Where on the DIGI site do I do the upgrade?

Thanx!

That only applies for upgrading to newer versions of Lite, from BFD Lite 1 to BFD Lite 1.5 for example. To go from BFD Lite to BFD 2, contact FXpansion support, and they'll tell you how you can upgrade with a 30% discount. I just did a couple days ago.

Are you sure it was 30% discount or $30 discount. I have seen several offers of a $30 discount but not a 30% discount. Big Difference..

Thanks,

Chuck

Ok, after looking thru my package of software that came with the Mbox 2 Pro, I found a link for the 30% upgrade to BFD 2.

Thanks!

Chuck
