Default Auto switch plugins between native and DSP?

Is there a way to take a session created on a native system, open it on an HDX system and get all the plugins to switch to their DSP versions without having to do it one at a time in each individual plugin window? I'm using PT 11.2 HD with HDX.

In TDM there used to be a button that allowed you to switch, but it's been awhile so I can't remember exactly....

That and a few beers before the all star game have given me temporary memory problems... :)

I know how to switch each individual plugin via the button at the top of the plugin window. What I'm hoping for is some way to do it globally to all plugins instead of needing to open up every single one.

Don't know if it's feasible, but if you could create the session on an HDX machine with the desired DSP plugins, I believe you could then go back and forth without having to change anything.

But since I have only used native, I'm not sure if that's correct...

Just rockin'...what more is there?

I don't think there is a auto switch, been looking for it myself. Protools should do it on it's own as the session loads... Strange that it doesn't do it for all DSP plugins.

On a TDM system in preferences>processing there is a check box 'open unresourced DSP buttons as native'. If this is unchecked when opening a native session all plugins automatically get switched to TDM if the plugin is available.

Don't know if there's anything similar on HDX but that's where I would look for it.

I think that setting still exists but I don't believe it does what you claim. It simply takes any DSP plugins and opens them as native if there isn't enough DSP power left. It doesn't change Native plugins that were created on a non-HDX system and resource them to the DSP card. Same for TDM. That setting doesn't load the TDM version of the plugin, it only loads the RTAS version if there isn't enough DSP for plugins that were originally selected to be TDM.
